The ‘C’ Football Coaching Certificate Course, the first activity in the AFC U-14 Festival of Football for the ASEAN region, kicked off in the capital of Sabah state in
Eighteen participants from nine countries --
Officially opening the course, Datuk Yusoff Mohamed Kassim, Vice President II and Chairman of the Technical and Youth Development Committee of the Sabah Football Association (Safa), said that the young generation should take the opportunity to take part in the coaching course since this is the starting base for their future.
AFC Festival Project Manager Dr. Shamil Kamil has said the young coaches should take the opportunity to learn as much as possible from the coaching course.
The course’s instructor, Mike Wong Mun Heng has also encouraged the course participants to learn as much as they can, as well as implement and share their lessons back home.
In a related development, a press conference was organised also on Monday where Permanent Secretary to the Sabah Ministry of Youth and Sports Datuk Suzannah Liaw has said that the Sabah State Government looks forward to giving its contribution and support to the festival.
Dr. Shamil thanked the Sabah State Government, Sabah Ministry of Youth and Sports, Football Association of Malaysia, Safa and local agencies for the contribution and co-operation in the past six annual festivals hosted by the state.
